Our pastor explained that there are two reasons our church has people give a brief testimony before they are baptized: (1) to pronounce their belief in Jesus as their Savior and (2) to share their testimony of God has been working in their heart and life. For the next several weeks, I continued to think and pray about testimonies and this is what God revealed to me:
So after seeking His will, BBM want to offer you the opportunity to share your story!! Every Thursday, we will feature a testimony from and by YOU, our readers!
- We all have a story.
Our lives are a story. We all have a past, a present and a future.
- God wants us to share our story.
Whatever you've gone through - good, bad, trials, struggles, tragedy, victory, setbacks, triumphs and more - God intends to use for His glory. Chances are someone else is going through the same thing and God longs to use what He has done in your life to minister to someone else!
I know what you're thinking...
~"But I'm not a writer, story-teller or blogger. I can't submit a testimony!" YES, YOU CAN!!!
I'm not looking for a perfectly written, grammatically correct essay. I'm looking for real stories of how God has changed your life!~"Testimonies are just about a conversion, when someone accepted Jesus as Savior." FALSE!!! That's where you allowed Christ to begin walking with you. A testimony can be from any point in your life. It may be something God has recently revealed to you OR maybe a tragedy occurred, you got angry at God and found that despite the pain his comfort & grace was enough, OR maybe you had a past hurt that was finally healed through the power of forgiveness OR maybe you witnessed God "show-up" during a time when all your faith was on the line.
This new ministry will only work if you will share your story! I know, you're nervous; maybe your hands are getting sweaty, your heart is pounding and over the next few days you won't be able to get this thought out of your head. LISTEN - That's God prompting you!
Your testimony could be the very tool that God is waiting to use in someone else's life.
Please email your testimony to me at torriesorge@gmail.com or you can send me a message on our Facebook page. If you have any questions, please let me know. I'd be happy to help you!
I know God is going to do mighty things! I look forward to reading how God has made your life, His testimony!
Be A Blessing,

My testimony is one of prophesy. I had been in and out of church, trying more to be in then out. My husband and I had been trying to conceive for quite some time, when my friend convinced me to come to a ladies meeting at her church on September 25, 2008. The guest speaker spoke on banner waiving and of prophetic dancing. During her teaching , she felt led to go into prayer. During that time I was prayed over by many people and a prophesy was given to me. A child was coming, but I needed to be obedient and step out and begin to waive my banners and seek God's direction. I was scared to death, there were no banner waivers in my church and so I was about to tread on new waters. The more I waived, the more God began to bless me and speak to me. The prophesy was confirmed on December 3, 2008. I continued to pray and thank the Lord for what He was about to do in our lives. On January 7, 2009 I learned that I was in fact going to have a child. We were so excited. I grew so much closer to Him, and trusted that all would fall into place. You see my husband was not a Christian at the time. By Easter of 2009, my husband had accepted Christ. I rededicated my live that very same day and God was continuing to do great things in our lives. On August 31, 2009 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, she was perfect. Almost 3 years later, our relationship with Christ continues to grow. Our daughter has such a love for Christ as well, and can not wait to get to church. Her love for banners is growing as well, she loves to dance, waive and praise the Lord any way she can.
Oh, I love this. This is my first visit to your blog via Time Warp Wife. Glad to have found you! Wait a minute - your blogfrog looks familiar. Wow - you've really grown. I bet there's a story here. Nice to find you again. And look forward to hearing those testimonies.
This post makes me smile. I have my testimony all written out because just recently the Lord laid it on my heart too to share my testimny on-line. I am a pastor's wife of a new church plant and we were just going through our first run of member-ship classes. As part of the class each person was asked to write out their testimony. I know that you have said that our testimony is also what God does after conversion and I so agree, but the testimonies we were asked to write for the church were our 'conversion' stories, with the emphasis that if I were to share my 'story' could somebody go home that night and know how to ask Jesus into their hearts. I'd be glad to share my 'testimony' with you, I'll be posting it on my blog soon and then I'll e-mail it to you.
Be blessed,
Shelley

Hi Jamie! It has been awhile! I'm not on BF as much anymore. So glad we could reconnect!
Thanks Ashley! Hope your holiday was beautiful!
Thanks Torrie - I'll e-mail it you over the weekend :D
Torrie,
I love your idea of putting up a blog where people can share their testimony. I have started a womens testimony group 2 months ago and it is remarkable. All us women meet up once a month and one woman a month shares her testimony. It is exceptional how you can get so much out of someone elses story. Keep up the awesome work, I will pray this blog will strengthen and help many of viewers.
Love this, Torrie. Looking forward to reading along.
Here is my testimony here: http://preceptgirl.blogspot.com/p/my-personal-testimony.html
Thanks for doing this, it is sooo important that we can retell our testimony. It is meant as an encouragement.
Thank you so much!! I look forward to reading it. I will email you soon for some info. :-)
I emailed you my testimony. It was the first time I had ever written it out. It turned out to be really long, but I am so glad I did it. It was such a blessing!!
Lauren, I received it. Thank you so much! I will be emailing you with more info soon.
Hi Shelley, Just following up. I was looking through the emails and I don't see your testimony. If you haven't sent it yet, not worries (or rush). I just didn't want to miss it. Have a great day!
